As envisioned by the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Minister of National Integration and Reconciliation, H.E MaithripalaSirisena, the week 8th to 14th January was declared as the National Integration and Reconciliation Week with the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers and it will be observed every year, from 2017 onwards.
The Ministry of National Integration and Reconciliation has a mandated responsibility to promote integration and reconciliation among the people and communities of Sri Lanka in order to establish sustainable peace and unity which are essential for the overallsustainable development of the country.
